Bobby Knight - Indiana Basketball

Bobby Knight  coached Indiana University Basketball over four  decades, from 1971 thru the 2000 season.    He bookended that role with seven seasons as coach of the Army Black Knights from 1965 to 1971, and at the tail end of his career  with 6 seasons as coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders   from 2001 to 2007.  At the time of his retirement he was the winningest Division 1 Basketball Coach of all time with an overall  record of  902-371.  

His Indiana teams won three NCAA Titles:  1976, 1981 and 1987. 

He was a hard nosed competitive coach whose temper often got him in trouble.  He demanded results and effort from his players.  He was nicknamed The General for  good reasons.
